Who I Am

I have more than 30 years' experience working in mental health and Acquired my BSc in Counselling in 2013. I have a CPCAB level 5 diploma in Psychotherapeutic counselling, Level 4 Diploma in Integrated Counselling. I am a registered member of the BACP and have spent the last 5 years working with Male Victims of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.

My Treatment Focus

I have a great deal of experience in working with common mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, phobia and substance misuse.

I offer help with anxiety created by the current pandemic particularly for those with underlying health conditions.

My treatment can be short term, 6 weeks for some anxiety-related disorders, or longer and is flexible to suit your needs.

I specialise in working with trauma; in particular, male trauma, whether the symptoms were acquired in childhood or through later life experiences. I work closely with men who are struggling in relationships, particularly those relationships that are damaging. I have worked in depth with people who have been exploited and manipulated by those around them. I can help you spot the signs and work with you toward solutions.

I offer help to people who may want to explore recovery from toxic religious experiences. I understand and respect people's beliefs and know that most religious experiences are very beneficial. However, many people who have belonged to a religion or church and have questions often feel alone and unable to explore alternative beliefs safely, without judgement. Many people feel guilty about the questions they have or about questioning their own faith. I offer no opinions but a safe, open dialogue where you can explore without fear.

I work closely with people who are struggling with relationships, particularly men who have problematic relationship experiences. Some people have difficulties in forming others in maintaining significant bonds. I can help you work through issues of self-worth, trust, assertivness and healthy emotional content

I promise to be there for you every step of your journey. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life

I offer online internet-based counselling i.e. Skype, Google Meet or Teams and telephone counselling. I offer a discount for those who have worked during the pandemic and for those who served in our armed forces
